OPC RULES

Reinfoeced Cockpite:
1. The manufacturer of any reinforced cockpit will submit his name (company) and completed OPC Reinforced cockpit questionaire (available from APBA) before his cockpit will be allowed in a apba sanctioned event.
2. Any competitor driving, or passenger, in an approved reinforced cockpit design boat will be in a restraint system consisting of a minimum 5-strap/4-strap point mounting design. Strap locations will be minimum two hip, two shoulder, crotch, all hooked together in a central release system. Belting shall be a minimum 2" wide.

Boats with reinforced cockpits using full coverage canopies must have:
a: Positive air flow Ventilation.
b. Must meet general safety rule regarding restraint systems.
c. Must be capable of being opened from inside or outside.
d. Must meet reinforced cockpit standards.

Reinforced cockpit standards for OPC:
A. suggested construction:
Step 1- Gelcote Mold and Let dry
Step 2- apply 3/4 oz. glass mat and let dry
Step 3- Apply layer of veil, layer of 9 oz. kevlar, layer of veil and
layer of 9 oz. carbon fibre. Bacuum bag and apply va
cuum until fully cured.
Step 4- Apply layer of veil, layer of 9 oz. Kevlar, layer of veil,
and layer of 9 oz. carbon fiber. Vacuum bag and apply
vacuum until fully cured.
B. Minimum 2" clearance above driver's helmet with 4"
recommended
C. All harness attatchment points mustt be secured such as
would be expected in an aircraft.
D. A removable steering wheel is required, "spring loaded."
E. Mirrors are required in circle racing.
